Young Issa passes on to our Lord.
In the early hours of the 7th March 2017, young Issa passed over into the hands of our Lord.
With Issa, another 30,000 children died on this day, and on every day after around the world.
These silent killers are poverty, hunger, easily preventable diseases and illnesses. Despite the scale of this daily and ongoing catastrophe, it rarely manages to achieve newsworthy status in the daily news.
Imagine the horror of the world, if a major earthquake were to occur and people stood by and watched without assisting the survivors! Yet every day, the equivalent of a major earthquake killing over 30,000 young children occurs to a disturbingly muted response. They die quietly in some poor corner of the globe, far removed from the scrutiny and the conscience of the world.
This message goes out to the 408 donors who gave so generously to help him.
In the mission fields, death seems to be more regular and openly spoken about;
Workers and volunteers are constantly reminded that life is finite;
For most of us, we will pause to be grateful for our health, to give our loved ones a little more attention; and reminds ourselves of what we hold to be truly important, what we really care about.
It also allows us to rethink our faith and in what we believe in, Jesus said…
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;
and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
and again he says,
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
We have over 20,000 euro from donations around the world and I asked Fr Themi what do we do?
1. Anyone wishing to have their gift returned and refunded , should email back, with a copy of their paypal receipt asking for a refund.
(You just need to forward the paypal receipt you received to firstname.lastname@example.org).
2. Alow Fr Themi the right to use the funds as he sees fit, by helping the hundreds of other children afflicted by Cancer in Sierra Leone and helping the Orphans he cares for.
If you are happy with the second option there is no need to respond.
